Sign-In, Your Team and Your Account Now Run in Your Region
Canada, Europe and Asia-Pacific: sign-in, your team, number routing and our subscription records now run in Montréal, Frankfurt or Singapore.
Your contacts, call records and transcripts already lived in your region, and calls on the numbers we issue you were already answered there. The account around them was not: until this month, signing in, your team and the routing behind your numbers ran in the United States for every District AI workspace.
That changed on October 10. If your workspace is in Canada, Europe or Asia-Pacific, the account services behind it now run in the same region as your contacts and call records.
What moved
| Your workspace | Account services now run in |
|---|---|
| Canada | Montréal |
| Europe | Frankfurt |
| Asia-Pacific | Singapore |
- Sign-in. The service that signs you in and keeps you signed in.
- Your account and team. Your members and their roles, and the workspaces you open with one login.
- Number routing. The index that tells us which workspace each of your numbers belongs to.
- Our subscription records. The records we keep about your plan. Card payments themselves are handled by our payment processor, in the United States.
- Scheduled jobs. The work we run on a timer for your workspace.
Why it matters
One answer to "where does it run?" When a customer, an auditor or your own IT team asks where the account behind your business line is handled, the answer is now the same region as your contacts and call records.
Nothing to set up. The move happened on our side, and your numbers, members, settings and history are where you left them. If you signed in to a District AI app before October 10, it may ask you to sign in once more.
The exceptions are published. Where something still runs outside your region, we say so, below and on your region's page.
What still runs outside your region
We tell you exactly where things run rather than rounding up. Payments, email and some phone and text-message services run in the United States, every visit reaches us through a global network edge first, and our monitoring tools are in the European Union. In Asia-Pacific, live call updates for your dashboard also pass through a relay in the United States. A frozen earlier copy of the moved sign-in, directory, membership and number routing records is kept in the United States so we can roll back, and in our encrypted backups. The Canada, Europe and Asia-Pacific pages name each one, and the Sovereign portal names every company that touches your data.
Also new: District AI 3.0, on every app
Alongside the move, the District AI apps for iPhone and iPad, Android, Mac, Windows and Linux reached version 3.0 together. Every app now includes:
- the call log, with the live transcript while a call is in progress;
- contacts, including blocking a contact;
- the inbox, where you can start a new conversation;
- analytics and your knowledge base;
- managing your numbers;
- your District Scheduling booking pages: bookings, event types, availability, calendars and team;
- District Desk, including opening a new ticket;
- reporting AI-generated content from a call.
And each one now displays Canadian French on a device set to French, in the same words as your dashboard.
That French was written for Canadian readers, not adapted from European French. It follows the glossary our website and dashboard use, so a call record, the inbox or a booking has the same name everywhere. Before release, all of the apps' more than 8,800 French strings passed our checks for Canadian French typography and terminology, and where a word did not fit a button or needed a different agreement, we adjusted it in that one place. We captured more than 600 screenshots of the apps in French across the five platforms and checked them, and every release build checks that its French is there before it ships.
Get 3.0 on the App Store for
iPhone, iPad and Mac, Google
Play
and the Microsoft Store. The
Mac app is also a signed download on
GitHub
and through Homebrew (brew install distronode-corporation/tap/district-ai).
The Linux app is on
GitHub
as a .deb and a Flatpak. All five are open source under Apache 2.0, and the
District AI service they connect to is not: signing in needs a District AI
account. Their code, and a page for each app, are on Open
Source.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to change anything?
No. The move happened on our side on October 10. Your numbers, members, settings and history are where you left them. If you signed in to a District AI app before October 10, it may ask you to sign in once more.
Is everything about my account now handled in my region?
No, and we say so rather than rounding up. Your region's page names each one.
Does this change where my calls are answered?
No. A number we issue your workspace was already answered in your region. This change moves the account services around your calls.
My workspace is in Virginia. What changes for me?
Nothing. Workspaces in Virginia were already served from the United States, and they still are.
What is new in the District AI apps?
Version 3.0 gives every app the live call transcript, blocking a contact and your booking pages, among others, and each one displays Canadian French on a device set to French. Get them from the App Store, Google Play, the Microsoft Store or GitHub.
